Gear Spotlight - '98 Ibanez RG7621

A couple weeks backs a friend shot me over an eBay link. We all know I’m a fan of white guitars. We also know I’m a huge fan of old Japanese made Ibby’s. As I opened the link I realized I was staring at an absolutely immaculate ‘98 RG7621. I was already a massive fan of these guitars and regret selling a couple that I’ve had. The fact that this came white from the factory was insane. There were only a few white ones made and they’re not easy to find. Especially in this condition. Unfortunately I had just paid rent/bills so I was super low on funds. I chalked it up to a loss and was bummed I couldn’t...

Gear Spotlight - '99 Ibanez RG7620

A couple weeks back, someone hit me up asking if I knew anyone that would be interested in an RG7620. Immediately I said "uhhh.. me?". I've always had a weak spot for late 90s 7 string RG's. Ive probably owned close to 20 of them over the years. My first 7 String was a Grey Pewter Matte RG7620. At the time I didn't really know the full potential of a 7 string, I just thought it was cool because it tuned lower. Little did I know that years later, it would be all I play. So when he hit me up asking, my interest peaked. Then I found out that it was in one of the best colors Ibanez has...

Gear Spotlight - Ibanez RG752WH

Contrary to popular belief. Sometimes even though you’re an artist with a company, you don’t have access to everything they put out. Being as much of a gear nerd as I am, It definitely hurts when you cant get that one guitar that fits you perfectly. Case in point is this guitar. The Ibanez RG752WH was a ZZ sounds exclusive. Ibanez is known for doing short runs of specific color ways for certain companies. Just like your favorite sneaker brands, clothing brands, and other boutique companies. Probably the most well known being the Axe Palace runs in recent years. Everyone has seen those guitars and they’re fucking awesome. This one went a little more under the radar and I didn’t...

Gear Spotlight - Ibanez RG752DY Custom

In late 2018, as most of us guitar and gear nerds do around NAMM time, I scoured the internet to find out new models that Ibanez is rolling out with. Even though I’m an artist, there are certain things we’re kept in the dark about. I saw literally everything that had been leaked at this time and was ready to check it out in person… or so I thought. I always get there early because I love being surprised and what they have on the wall. I remember the moment that I walked around the corner and immediately being blinded by how bright this guitar was.            Lets start off with the...

Gear Spotlight - Ibanez RGR7 Custom

Since the first day I signed my contract with Ibanez, I always wanted a white RG with a maple board. The aesthetic of that combination is absolutely perfect in my eyes. Classy as fuck. Thats why when I had the opportunity to get one, I jumped. In 2016, We were on tour with Thy Art Is Murder and I had one prestige left on my contract. My original plan was to get Black RG752 from my contract then buy a Wenge topped RG752 and swap the necks. The Black RG would be painted white and boom, Id have a White 752 with a maple board. Mike didn’t want me to go through the hassle of having to buy a guitar...
